World Energy Forum declared 2016 as the Year of Women in Energy with the target goal of ensuring universal access to modern energy services for all women who are the world’s most susceptible group to energy services. The target aligns with the global work of the United Nations on gender and the UN-Women in ensuring that No Woman is Left Behind in the Development Agenda and the 5 Ps set goal.
